GREAT & affordable little diffuser, with some caveats
With cold and flu season approaching, I wanted to quickly review this product for others. When we get stuffy in the dry winter months, it's always a good idea to add a little humidity to the bedrooms and/or common rooms in the house. I don't necessarily use this for the scent or "aromatherapy" (I'm not convinced any given scent can actually "relax" you, but to each his own. This diffuser WOULD be good for that, if that's your thing.) I happen to like using essential oils therapeutically, and there is good evidence that SOME of these compounds can really make a difference. SEE YOUR DOCTOR ABOUT ANY SYMPTOMS THAT ARE WORRISOME FIRST! For serious illness, critical time can be lost while people mess around trying to self-diagnose and self-medicate at home. Health food practitioners sometimes peddle a lot of "snake oil" too--they're out to make a profit like anyone else. Some are good and conscientious, but some rely on folklore and a lot of questionable research.) With the above cautions, I have a lot of allergies and I seem to get stuffed up frequently, indoors or out. I have a few essential oils that I use to open up my nasal passages and airways. A lot of people like the smell of lavender, and it has been shown to have antibacterial properties (about 8% of the population is sensitive/allergic to lavender, so it really isn't for everyone. Today they put lavender in everything! Lavender doesn't bother me, but it's not one of my favorites either; I have other oils that I prefer. One common reaction to diffusers and scented candles is that certain essentials oils will give you a bad headache; just toss it out if that happens!) My reason for buying this unit was that it seemed to be the best method for delivering the oils, in that you'll breathe them in directly. I just got this today and set it up immediately. It's very affordable. I like that it's compact and unobtrusive and should be easy to clean. (I don't know about others, but I always seem to have a lot of stuff on my night stand, so I wanted something small.) It delivers a good amount of (cool) mist and can be set to shut off according to your preference. It also shuts off automatically when the well gets dry, so to speak. It is also very quiet. I don't care one way or another about the light; just a simple indicator light would be adequate, so you'll know at a glance whether the unit is on or off. The ONE thing I would like to change is the little adaptor. It plugs in on the bottom of the unit, and when you tilt the diffuser to plug the adaptor in, some of the water/oil mixture can spill out onto you, the unit itself and onto your furniture...so plug it in first before you add the water. Otherwise it's a great little device--the room smells divine and I'm already breathing easier! (NOTE: Amazon has a great selection of essential oils if you don't feel like going to the health food store. Don't be afraid to experiment, but please try to do a littler research first. Quality essential oils are expensive, and I've had to throw some types away simply because the scents were obnoxious!) One other caution: some essential oils can be toxic to babies and children, like camphor for instance. The chest rub ointment most of our parents used on us when we were kids has been banned in many countries for this reason. (Nothing against that company, but camphor can also be obtained as a pure essential oil in a bottle; it's probably best to avoid it altogether.) The Domie directions state clearly: KEEP OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN. If nothing else, if a child spills the water/oil mixture, it'll make a real mess and you'll never get the odor out of your carpets and furniture. Your kid will smell funny too. For children, get a regular humidifier for the bedroom if your pediatrician recommends it. I'm glad I bought this diffuser and highly recommend it.

Easy to use and seems to be lasting.
Had this for several months now. Use it off and on and still working great. I clean it every now and then, but not really a great effort. So far a great product.

Very good diffuser!
Arrived quickly, easy to use, and lasts a good bit. I have it in my sonโs room to help with bedtime. He goes to bed about 8PM and is often still running when he wakes up around 7AM.

Pleased with the design and operation
Very quiet, works well and uses a surprisingly small amount of water. Placed in near our seats in the living room and the scent is subtle but noticeable. We have 30' ceilings so I wouldn't expect it to cover this large room.

Easy to use and beautiful design
We have multiple diffusers throughout the house but none as beautiful as this one. Easy to understand instructions and beautiful sitting on the end table in our living room. I would recommend this unit to a friend.
