Handweaver's Pattern Book: The Essential Illustrated Guide to Over 600 Fabric Weaves

Excellent book. Really good descriptions and photographs. Looking forward to trying out the different weaving drafts from the book

One of the best books to have when you are learning to weave On a 4 shaft loom. Explains how to read patterns and lays out the different weaves clearly and with photos of the reverse. Spiral binding means it folds flat so easy to have near you to consult while you weave. Highly recommended.

This is the same book as that entitled: Handweaver's Pattern Directory. It is very well written and surpassed my expectations. It's more than a book of patterns, there's some basic weaving instruction as well: invaluable stuff like yarn choice and calculating how much yarn you need for a warp. It is beautifully and clearly laid out and extremely well illustrated. Once you've learnt how to put a warp on your loom, you could make good use of this book. It gives instruction for twill weave patterns (or structures), not for finished items. Having said that, you could use these weaves for clothing or furnishing fabrics, for towels or blankets, scarves or shawls. Note: This is the same book as that entitled "Handweaver's Pattern Book".

Over the moon with this book, so easy to understand and easy to follow, this book is for 4shaft looms.

Great resource for beginners and experienced weavers alike.

Full of wonderful colour illustrations of all the weaves with good and clear drafts and other instruction needed. I wish it had drafts for more than 4 shafts, - but I can't blame the book for that, it is what it promises!

A perfect book to partner Learning to Weave by Deborah Chandler. Provides an amazing pattern resource of ideas to be used independently by new and more experienced weavers. Spiral binding enables book to lay flat when working and following a pattern. Very clear instructions all in colour and a huge variety of different weaving methods. Inspirational!

handweaver's pattern book. I gave this book five stars due to its lovely layout, easy to read format and clarity of explanations. As a relative novice to weaving, I would recommend this easy to read book which has talked me briefly through a simple table loom, floor looms and equipment. The book provides more detail of yarns and calculations of requirement, along with colour combinations. Its main object is, as the title states, weaving patterns, the charts are very clear with good explanations that I can understand despite still having a lot to learn and having had only two weaving lessons. I believe that those with far more experience may also find much to inspire. A lovely book of excellent value.

Excellent book for beginners who want exposure to many styles of weaving. Clearly laid out and easy to understand provided you know how to read a pattern and warp a loom.

I'm really glad I got this book. So many different patterns and ideas. All patterns are for a four-shaft loom, which is also great.

This book is difficult to find and I found it on Amazon and use it for many patterns for my floor loom weaving projects.
