Hopkins Towing Solutions 43875 Plug-In Simple Vehicle to Trailer Wiring Kit

This exactly what I needed to install a trailer hitch on my Subaru Baja. Works great and was easy to install.

Like many Baja owners, I wasn't sure what the process was for wiring a trailer. When I found out there is a simple plug behind the right rear wheel, Subaru dealers were no help in recommending an interface for a standard 4-plug trailer harness. Hopkins makes is simple - this is truly a plug and play device that took me 5 minutes to connect. The mystery plug on the Baja was the hardest part - you think you're going to break it by pulling off the cover. You won't - but you may need some elbow greese to yank it off there (we used channel locks to grab it). Thanks, Hopkins, for making this simple solution - I wish Subaru dealers would get a clue so they can recommend this part to their customers.

Super easy to install. Just plug into a pre-wired plug and zip tie-up. Love it!

Extremely easy to install. Like all trailer wiring insulation this could be thicker and stronger. Instructions bore no relation to reality. Terrible.

I would actually be mad at you if you bought some generic kit and cut up the OEM wiring harness with those stupid clips when you could just buy this in plug and play.this thing is so easy to install and is a much cleaner install when you're done that there's absolutely no reason you should not buy this for your Subaru

THIS IS A SPECIFIC "PLUG-AND-PLAY" WIRE HARNESS FOR THE SUBARU BAJA TRUCK/TRAILER HITCH. BAJAS ARE RARE ANDHITCH WIRING SPECIFICALLY FOR THE BAJA IS EVEN RARER SO KUDOS TO HOPKINS FOR PRODUCING ONE THAT IS BOTH ADEQUATE AND CHEAPER THAN AN OEM (THE ONLY OTHER ALTERNATIVE AS FAR AS I COULD TELL) ...BUT THE RUNTY MACHINE SCREW AND WOEFULLY MICROSCOPIC ZIP TIES INTENDED TO SECURE THE POWER CONVERTER AND WIRE HARNESS RUNS TO THE BAJA CHASSIS AND AROUND THE HITCH RECEIVER MAIN CROSS TUBE ARE AN INSULT TO ANYONE WITH A MODICUM OF SPATIAL CONCEPTION - TOO LAUGHABLE TO EVEN ATTEMPT TO USE FOR THEIR INTENDED PURPOSE HERE

Quick simple and easy to fit once you get the cap off the plug attached to the car wiring. Instructions were not much help but you don't really need them. All you need is to locate the plug and lead under the car (it's right by the right rear wheel arch) and remove the cap from the plug. That turned out to be easier said than done, in fact I had to get my local Subaru dealer to remove it as I thought I might break it, it was that tightly attached.The rest took just 5 minutes !
