A few of his videos aided in my son's excitement to leave his friends in Indiana when work relocated me to Arizona. He looked forward to the transition. My 8 year old “odd one out” absolutely loves this book.
My son is 8 and has a lot of medical and social challenges. This is his favorite book and he’s read it twice! He’s also read sections of it to me. It has given him great perspective on his own quirks. Sections of this book are laugh out loud funny. It’s not politically correct or warm and fuzzy so don’t expect that from the book. But in our house we joke around a lot about our personal challenges and my son has a great sense of humor about his own issues. So this book is perfect for him.

Odds1out is one of the few youtubers that doesn't drive me nuts. I love that his videos are clean and kid friendly and honestly I think he is funny and often find myself listening in while my kiddos are watching. My 9, 10, and 11 year old all really wanted this book so we got it and they all took turns reading it immediately. They enjoyed reading it and said a lot of the stories were new and not on his youtube channel (which was something I was concerned about). In less than a week they all 3 read it and said it was super funny and they highly recommend it! Also, James if you are reading this please write more books 😁

Just plain funny. :)
My 10 year old son loves it! The author is a "Tuber" that does animations of (mostly) cute life lessons that are actually pretty funny. The book seems to fill in the details on some of those stories and adds a lot more "lessons" as well. The illustrations are colorful, similar to the animations, language seems to be appropriate... I have read a few pages and not the whole book but I'm pretty sure we would recommend it for just about anyone with a silly sense of humor.

Fun read.
Granted, I am a bit beyond the targeted audience for this book, but daughter is a huge fan of his and after seeing him and Phoenix comic fan fusion, I was intrigued to get this book. It was a quick read but full of fun stories. James is a good story teller, knows how to weave a tale and his illustrations are fun as well and brings life to the written dialog. A good book if you are a fan of James, or even if you don’t know him, but just like a little silliness every now and then.

Great Book for kids
I bought this book for my 11 year old son. He's been spending too much time watching YouTube videos so I offered to buy him a book. He helped pick this one out as it is written by a Youtuber. He absolutely loved it. It took him less than a week to finish. It is well written, funny and has lots of great advice for kids. He says, "I liked this book because it kept me hooked and has a lot of funny true stories."

This was a fun little endearing read! Most of the stories are already up on James's YouTube channel, TheOdd1stOut, as videos to be watched, but there are a few anecdotes that aren't on his channel, and a little more substance to the ones that are and made it into this book. Most of this book feels like a memoir of things James has learned or experienced since as early as kindergarten onward, and I feel like it reads as such even when it's funny. I recommend this to fans of his channel, especially if they're younger fans, as I imagine they can take some nuggets of wisdom from his experience. (And for those who may not have seen his channel before, but stumbled upon this book, you should go watch some of his videos! They're fun, and typically get me to laugh when I need it.)

Excellent, I highly recommend!!
My grandson went crazy when he received this book. He has trouble learning to read and now he really wants to learn. He showed his teacher and his tutor. He knows ALL the stories and is so excited to now try to read them. He said it was one of his best Christmas gifts. So I had to order the 2nd book too. He loves James and watches and all his videos on youtube! I love him too! He has also started drawing animation. I just had to buy sketch books! James is a good influence and so funny and entertaining!
