Fits Vintage D-Frame Colts Perfectly
I bought the large and the small versions of these Pachmayr grips for a Colt Detective Special, manufactured circa 1976, and a Colt Cobra, made in 1969 or thereabouts. (Not to be confused with the new version also called Cobra, which I do not believe will accommodate these grips.) Both have identical grip frames. The original checkered wood grips are beautiful but recoil is punishing. These replacement grips not only tame the felt recoil but also keep your hand from riding up the grip when the barrel flip forces the rear of the revolver down. Installation took less than five minutes. The only thing to remember is that the nut comes attached to the screw supplied with the grips and you need to first detach it, nest it in the hole on the right-side grip, and then thread the screw through from the left. It's not like the screw on the old version where the threads go directly into receiving threads on the right-side grip. Fit the nut into the indentation first; tighten the screw until the gap in front closes (the Pachmayr grip is one-piece and closes around the frame like a clamshell) and you're good to go.

Typical Pachmayr improvement over stock grip
Purchased for use on a Rock Island M206. Fits pretty well, gap on the front strap that isn't annoying - probably a few more turns on the screw will make that gap smaller, or some judicious trimming on the inside. Love how it improves the handling of the gun, and is grippy enough to handle well without being too rubbery and catching on everything. One other note, and it may be specific to the M206, but regular speed loaders don't work well with this grip, getting caught when inserting rounds. I went with speed strips for reloads.

Armscor (Rock Island) M200 Says Yes!
Love the grips, my M200 feels complete now, very nice upgraded, a must, even for a kick around truck gun. Fits 98.8% perfectly, only a small hairline separation where they don't come all the way together, very slight, hardly noticeable. Looks almost factory.

Works for RIA M206
I bought this to replace the grips on an Armscor Rock Island Armory M206. It fits, but imperfectly--as other reviewers have pointed out, there is a thin gap or seam when you put it on the gun. The grip feels great, though, and while I wish it fit perfectly, it's a pretty close and pretty good fit considering it was made for a different (and much higher priced) gun than the one I'm using it on. Dry fire has been much more comfortable with this grip than with either the wood or the plastic grips that came with the revolver. Strongly recommend for the M206, with the caveat that there will be a thin little gap.

Fits great on my '67 Colt Cobra .32 NP
I inherited a Colt Cobra that seems to be a 1967 model (Serial 23****LW "COBRA MODEL/AIRCREWMAN/COURIER/AGENT & VIPER"). Wooden Colt medallion grips were well worn and uncomfortable. I noticed that the backstrap on my pre-71 Colt did not extend to the bottom of the grips. Based on some of the reviews here, I realized I was GTG with these grips. They came fast and were in perfect condition. Really improves the point of aim on my Cobra, feels super comfortable in the hands and I am sure when I shoot it, it will absorb the shock of the venerable .32 S&W Long. Grip is grippy, good looking and rejuvenated my revolver. It is now a very competent carry gun. Thanks to those who asked and answered questions about this grip!

Wouldn't fit Colt Agent.
Wouldn't work on my Colt Agent, which was specifically listed as a supported gun. The screw hole wasn't even close to lining up. Unfortunate, because I really like Pachmayr grips. No help from Pachmayr either.

I'M KEEPING THEM BUT I WISH THEY WERE BETTER
At first I bought the CD-G Gripper grips for my "new" old Colt Detective Special, but they fit so poorly that I had to return them - there was a 1/8" gap between the two sides when installed. These CD-C Compac grips don't fit as well as they could, but they fit better than the Gripper grips did. Pachmayr grips used to be SO much better, I can prove that because I have grips that I installed on other revolvers years ago. I think the quality probably started declining when Lyman took over the Pachmayr brand in 1996. That's just my humble opinion. Anyway, bottom line, I'm keeping these grips because even with their imperfections they're still better than any others, especially those clunky walnut grips that came stock on the Colt Detective Special from the factory.
