This can display in Celcius. You just have to hold the button down on the front to go into the setup menu and you can change it.

How is this device installed in the engine to read temps.?

This meter kit uses a CHT sensor that will install under the spark plug. It will replace the crush washer on the spark plug. It is use do measure cylinder head temp on air cooled motors that have a 14mm diameter thread spark plug.

Does this gauge feature a backlight?

Yes, but it only comes on for a few seconds when you press the button. There might be an option to have it on all the time, but obviously you should then wire the guage to a switched supply.

Excellent Temp Gauge for air cooled engine

I really like this temp gauge I installed on John Deere riding lawn mower. I had to splice in longer wires for the spark plug connection but next time I will buy an extension cable because they have four different length cable extensions.

Sensor lead is too short

I got the spark plug mounted temp sensor and the lead is 24 inches long. Trail tech please wish me luck mounting this on a bike LOL
