Has anyone had trouble with tightening the bag? It won’t stay on so, it keeps unscrewing.

Yes same problem - no solution. My little kids knock it off. This product isn't really designed to be used. Contact the company for a return and buy a different product.

Has anyone found a way to fix the overly tightened head design flaw? I’m afraid to even put it togther if it means I may damage it.

Hi, it won't damage it, but I can't unscrew the punching bag (head) on mine, other then that it works fine but spins around a little on a slow side

It depends on how tall your 7 year old is. I have a smaller 13 year old and it works for him. I think it would work for a average to larger 7 year old who is closer to 5 ft.
