It works
They work as advertised. If you happen to run across an oddball Serially-Attached-SCSI drive (like out of a large storage array), this plug will let you plug it into a normal desktop using the standard SATA data and power cables.

4 out of 8 Failed in a Week. YOU HAD ONE JOB!!!
These cables do an impressive job of taking all the reliability of SAS and throwing it out the window. The problem is simple... The plastic on the non-contact side where the drive plugs in is soft and weak. Stick it into something that is hot(ish, say 47c or so) like a server and they get softer still. Make them vibrate at 15,000 RPM and the gap starts to stretch... Until they don't make contact anymore and the drive "fails". Bad no idea the first week, imaging server humming along just fine... Then I get the "degraded" warning. I'm upstairs, it's in the server room. Head down. Before I can even get that far, another failure... Array failure. I get in there, yank it out of the rack. Pull plugs, reinsert. Drive spins up. So array should be good. I check. 3 failed members. The one I just plugged in promptly fails again. 4 down. By then I know it has nothing to do with the drives. I shut it down and check out the backside. All the cables are drooping under their own weight, not perpendicular to the drives. I pull one out and look to see it rounded out and swollen inside. I bought some supermicro stuff and had the thing back up and running the next week, every drive was fine and *luckily* no data was lost. Learn from my fail. DON'T EVER BUY THESE TERRIBLE "CABLES". Don't think your mileage may vary. My drives were securly mounted in their cages with no movement. My temps were right where they should be. The machine was not moved or shaken or even *power cycled*. All the cables had to do was support their own weight. I wish I could give zero stars.

Works as Advertised
In use on a Corsair Obsidian Black piece of junk case (I emailed Corsair about several of their design flaws). Regardless, I have it connected to the first drive and power source to their back plane. Works fine. No problems. Would buy again.

Two Stars
the PC motherboard SATA port is not detecting the SAS HDD connected by this cable :-(

exactly what I needed to install SAS drive in HP workstation.
Used to attach SAS drive into HP SAS controller that used standard SATA couplings. (What do you mean "6 more words required". I'll tell you how many words are required!)
