Anyone figure out how to keep the hood from closing?

I have owned the Gold N Hot 1200 for over 35 years and it still works perfectly. The only difference is there is a blue button on the front of mine beneath the Gold N Hot lettering on the one pictured that allows me to push it and maneuver the hood to set it to the height that I want the hood to go. I'm not sure if what looks like a white button in that same area on the one pictured would allow you to do the same thing. The blue button on mine is much wider and the same color as the handle on the top. Hope that helped.

Is this hair dryer quiet?

It did not work. Was a terrible purchase

I have a model # gh9271. i'am having problems with "opening and closing it. thsnk you.

When opening, the ridges that keep the hood upright are not very sharp. So, i use both hands to lock in place. Mine works well and never had any problems.
