Magician, death and the moon: Surrealism meets Symbolism in Salvador Dalí's Tarot deck Legend has it that when preparing props for the James Bond film Live and Let Die , producer Albert Broccoli commissioned Surrealist maestro Salvador Dalí to create a custom deck of Tarot cards . Likely inspired by his wife Gala, who nurtured his interest in mysticism, Dalí eagerly got to work, and continued the project of his own accord when the contractual deal fell through. The work was published in a limited art edition in 1984, the first-known Tarot deck completed by a well-known painter . Dating back to the Renaissance era, Tarot&;thought by some to be an interpretation of dreams or a foretelling of the future&;had seen a new surge of popularity during the 1970s hippie movement. Here, TASCHEN resurrects Dalí's fascinating deck of 78 cards, featuring compelling renditions of such characters and symbols as the Magician, the Lovers, the Moon, Death, the High Priest, and the Empress, in collage designs of drawings, icons, and color splashes. Love this deck
I absolutely love these cards. The pictures are vibrant and beautiful and I get many compliments when I read with them about how interesting and lovely they are. The book that comes with them is excellent and I love learning of the Dali interpretations for the cards and the book also explains the art work and influences. One of the best decks in my tarot collection.

My favorite tarot deck
This is my favorite tarot deck to date and I love the interpretations. The only thing that would make it better is having the golden gilded edging that was on the first deck that came out. Which I've only seen on ebay or here for $250-$700. Other than that, it's identical.

well made, love it
It's done really well, comes in a nice box with a supplementing book. If you like Dali, go for it! There is a great story behind how Dali ended up creating this. FYI: It's not a compilation, Dali actually created every picture custom for a Tarot.

Spiritual Surrealism
Love these cards. Dali's interpretation of the Major Arcana resonates deeply with me. If you are a Cartomancer and a fan of Dali, this is a must have.

Great addition to a collection
These are amazing. Not what I'd recommend for a beginner but a great addition to a collection and, so far, have been startlingly spot on to the situation at hand.

Very interesting
It's quite an interesting deck. The meaning of the card isn't entirely different from the standard RWS interpretation so I won't call it an alternative deck but it's also quite unique.

Puh, das war ein Fehlgriff! Jedenfalls für mich, denn mit diesen Karten werde ich nicht warm. Es gibt so viel schöne Tarotdecks, dieses gehört nicht dazu. Die Größe und Verarbeitung der Karten sind klasse, und den Karton verwende ich für was anderes. Das hätte ich mir aber besser gespart.

ダリの手書きのタロットカード。10年前も欲しかったのですが、売り切れで手に入らず、そのまま10年がたち、またタロットをやりだして、ダリのタロットを探していたところ今回偶然見つけ手に入れることができました。嬉しくて、勿体無くてまだ開封していません。 良いお買い物が出来ました。 ありがとうございました。
