Using Visioner One Touch Scanner
I bought Visioneer Scanner five years ago in my home country (Bangladesh). I used this scanner. This scanner was very good. It's software was very nice and friendly. Now again I bought this scanner in U.S.A. It's performance is very nice and I am pleased to use this. Thank you.

You get waht you pay for...and it's a good deal
I love this scanner. I got it used off amazon for $25 and for that price I am very happy with it but would not pay more for it. I like the landscape design and find it more usable on my desk this way.

Scanner Good, Software So-So
I think this is an OK scanner. I would actually give it 4 stars. The scans are very good quality and it scans pretty quickly [even quicker using the WinXP Camera & Scanner Wizard]. I personally find the software with it kind of difficult to use but that could be because I seldom use or need to scan. Maybe if I used it more often I'd like it better. It's really not a bad unit, all in all. I upgraded it from 3 to 4 stars.

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly and answers to the negative posts
I have owned a Visioneer 7100 USB scanner for years. It always works. It IS a good buy - but only for SOME of the Windows Operating Systems. So first - which Windows Operating Systems will it work on: Windows 98se, Windows ME, and Windows XP. It MAY work on Windows 7, 8.0, 8.1, 10, and 11. I now use Windows 10 and am having problems getting it to run. The problems are: I'm using a newer OS and it is a 64bit OS. The program was designed to work with 32bit systems ONLY. NOW - some answers: No driver? Google it. Just type in "Visioneer 7100 USB driver" and LO and BEHOLD! There are thousands of places to get the driver. NO LOCK ON THE SCANNER? Heaven forbid! Look on the bottom of the scanner and HEY! THERE IT IS! Unlock it. You BROKE your scanner? OMG! There are only four screws on the bottom, take them out and the unit comes apart. Fix what you broke. Make great scans again! However - Tech Support sucks. That's because you really should not need Tech Support. If so - think about it.

Crap, Crap, Crap!!!
There is no other way to put it. All Visioneers are garbage. Purchased my 2nd one (after first one died for no reason after a year) and have experienced many problems. Lately it won't let me scan anything because of an error saying to "unlock your scanner". There is no Freakin lock on the darn thing!!! After contacting the company many many times (btw - there customer service sucks! - No telephone number, unless u pay $2 per minute, just a computer-generated machine that unsuccessfully helps you called SARA). I finally put a claim in through the Better Busines Beaureau, there response was that they couldn't send me a new scanner cause it was after 1 year of my purchase, but they would be so kind enough as to let me purchase a new one and give me 25% off of their price (which was probably an elevated price). I told them to kiss off! Anyway - please don't buy this product or any Visioneer product - they Suck!

Great Value, But A Little Tricky to Use at First
For the price, you get a reliable machine that produces high quality scans. Maybe it's that I was used to another brand scanner and scanning software, so this software was a little tricky for me at first, but I'm a little less than thrilled with the scanning software package that comes with the 7100. I'd like to use VueScan, but it's not compatible with Visioneer scanners. It seems that once I delve into the details in the manual, I may be able to control more of the scanning process from that aspect in order to do less clean up work in Photoshop.

Stay Away From Visioneer Scanners!
I bought three of them last year-all different models. One for home, one for the office and one for a co-worker. We have hardly ever used any of them, but now all of them suffer the same problem: "Unlock the scanner error". They are unlocked!!!
