These water faucets are great! The water tastes so much better without all the chemicals that are put in it, but I know it’s still clean water to drink and use. There is practically no leakage and the water comes out pretty fast. It’s an investment in my health, but I feel safer knowing my water is healthier. The filters last a good amount of time as well, so I feel I get my money’s worth.

I am a trained water quality chemist, and I approve the use of this filter. This filter is certified for up to 3 month or 100 gallon use. If you use it sparingly, it might last up to 4 months, but change it at least that often or else you could see contaminants leaching through the filter and into your drinking water. Replacements are pretty cheap and available here or in most department/grocery stores so you have no excuse - the filter can't protect you from harmful chemicals and bad flavors if you leave it in for too long. PUR has two basic filter models for their in-sink units. The RF9999 model (this one - usually blue) does a two-step process. It uses a charcoal-style filter to remove various chemicals from the water. This is where the other PUR filter model (usually white) stops and spits out "pure" water. The RF9999 model has a second step though, which runs the water over a "salt cake" that adds some minerals back into the water in order to improve the taste and make it better at keeping you hydrated than pure water. It will fit into ANY of the PUR in-sink filter units, which is great because you don't need to know your specific model number. If your filter screws onto your sink nozzle and says PUR on the outside, just use this filter and you're good. Will it fit the in-line filters like on your refrigerator door or underneath your sink? I don't know!! Will it fit a pitcher filter that you fill up with a couple quarts and store it in your fridge? I don't know!! I don't use those types of filters. All I know is, this is great for the ones that screw onto the end of your sink nozzle. In terms of filtration potential, with PUR you can trust what is advertised on the box. It is good for reducing lead and several other chemicals. It also removes chlorine by-products from the bleaching process at the water treatment plant that might make your water taste like a swimming pool. If you are worried about a specific contaminant, visit the PUR manufacturer's website and/or your local drinking water utility website for details. When installing a new filter, run the water through the filter for 5-10 minutes before using it. This cleans any leftover charcoal dust out and allows the filter material to be soaked, which is the only way it will work properly. If you turn off the filter for an hour or more (up to 36 hours) run the water for around 10 seconds before you use it, to let the filter clear out any junk first. If it has been more than about a day and a half, run the water for 5 minutes first to re-soak it.

I bought this 6-pack of Pur filters because I needed a replacement, and the 6-pack had the best deal. It fits perfectly into my Pur water filter device (the one that attaches to your faucet). One reason I bought the 6-pack is because the Pur filters have a short life span, which I do not like. However, I am currently living in a rental property and my refrigerator does not have a water dispenser. The refrigerator is also slightly smaller than what is considered full-size by today's standards, so I didn't want to waste precious space in my fridge by using a Brita water filter jug or something similar. The Pur water filter is fine for me while I am in a renting situation. I would NOT use it as a permanent solution. However, I do like that the filter device can be removed from the faucet if extra space is needed. Some reviewers complained that they had to run too many gallons of water through the filter when first installing it or that it barely lasted them a month. Here's my personal situation for some perspective. The filter lasts me about three months before I get the red light, and gives me water that tastes and looks clean, with no gunk in it, for an additional month after. I run water through the filter for about 3-5 minutes when I initially install it. The instructions say to run water for 60 seconds, but I'm a bit OCD. My household consists of myself and my spouse. My spouse doesn't drink much water, but I drink between 60-70 ounces of water per day. Overall, I'm happy with the device and filter cartridges. It suits my current purpose. One downside to the device is that it is often tough to install it to versatile kitchen faucets - the ones with various types of sprays. Those washers are nearly impossible to remove and switch out. I gave the cartridges 4 stars instead of 5 since they need to be replaced frequently. The investment is not too pricey - I paid $40 for 6 filters, each one lasting 3-4 months. A refrigerator filter usually also costs around $40 and lasts about 1 year. One last thing - I don't know if this has to do with the device or the cartridge...I had removed the old cartridge to ensure I was buying the correct replacement after I started getting the red light. When I put it back in, the light turned back to green and stayed that way for 1.5 weeks, when I finally installed a new cartridge. Therefore, I don't know what the green, yellow, and red lights are measuring, if anything. Is it based on the amount of time the cartridge is in the device or is it based on how many gallons of water pass through the filter? However, I wouldn't worry too much about this unless you're looking to use this product in a country with really bad water quality. Just keep an eye on how your water looks and tastes, and you'll be fine.

These filters are just right for home use; they don't clog up and stop flowing water. They remove 99% of contaminates in water. They are easy to install, just put them in the filter mount and run water through them for about 5 minutes to activate them. They last for 3 months under normal use. They are an exact replacement for use in the filter mount. I like them for how my water tastes after being filtered. No harsh taste to notice.

These work really well. We have hard water and it is way more economical and environmentally friendly to use this vs bottled water. I use the subscribe and save to save even more and make sure I am always able to replace when needed. I use the recommended time of every 3 months. I do the equinox dates to make it easy to remember. They are very easy to install. I do wish my bathroom sinks had spouts that would work well with these so we could get water to drink from other faucets as well. The water flow does slow as it gets close to replacement time. They could certainly be changed early is that was a problem for you.

Good replacement filter and very easy to change. Delivery took quite a long time, which was a bit annoying, but the filter itself does the job. The water finally tastes drinkable, in London the tap water can be quite unpleasant. One filter lasts us around 2–3 months for two people. Overall, happy with it.
