Excellent and sturdy product
Installed this as a replacement to the previous mount which i purchased. The previous one was lacking on few things. Lets start with everything good about this mount. 1) The screws which this comes with are really well built, it takes an effort to drive them into wood. 2) The material is really very well built, was a bit unsure as this was a bit heavy. I had to re-do my wood associated to the joist to make sure it can take the wait of both mount and the projector. 3) The ball joint is a bit funky, make sure you fully push it into the joint before you screw it in. This can cause instability if not fully pushed in. 4) I have BenQ TH585, I had to use the smaller hands provided instead of the bigger ones, it works very well. Now for the issues faced A) There are 3 metal rods, there is a small gap between the 2nd rod and the final one which we mount the projector to. This causes some movement every time i touch it, its not causing any issues, but something which is a damper on this. B) The specific adjustment is a bit difficult in this, need to play around before you are happy with the result. Beyond that love this, very sturdy and easy to install

Update: Customer Service
UPDATE: SPN Performance contacted me shortly after I made the review and were incredibly responsive and get receptive regarding the modification I made to improve the mount. I am updating my review to reflect the excellent customer service I received, without even having to ask. Its definitely strong, I weigh ~160lbs and i could probably hang from it if i wanted to, but the lack of good fit and finish means that its somewhat wobbly and requires some modification to hold the projector in place without swinging. When I first put it up the bottom of the mount would swing back and forth at least 1/4" no matter how tight i tried to get it. I had to make a sleeve to fit in between the pipes to keep everything from wobbling as somebody walked by. For $23 however, its a pretty good deal and has the potential to be very sturdy if you don't mind tinkering with it a bit to get it right.

BUY CHEETAH MOUNTS!!
This mount is AWESOME! Our church bought a cheetah TV amount a few months ago and we were blown away by the quality and the extras it came with so we decided to get a cheetah mount for our new projector. We were not disappointed. This mount is everything and more than you could need. UNBOXING: First of all we noticed that it came with a lot of extras. It came with the mount, extra brackets for fitting all projector sizes, an arm extender, an HDMI cable, and a keychain light. So it is was a fun experience unboxing it all. ASSEMBLY: our projector is small, so we had to change out the long feet for the short ones. It was simple and easy...took about 5 minutes. Attaching it to the ceiling was easy. Few screws and done. Nice feature we didn't expect is that the cables can be hidden inside the arm so they don't show. It's a clean look with no dangling cables. ADJUSTING: when adjusting to get the right height and angle, this mount was fluid and easy. No problems at all. We will be buying cheetah mounts for every future mounting need for sure.

Good mount. Cruddy mounting bolts and hardware.
Others have gone into the details of the mount itself. I'll agree with most of them: It works very well. My Epson projector fits perfectly and is now mounted on the ceiling, and it was pretty easy to do. However, I want to say that the type of bolts-- the actual mounting hardware included-- is cruddy. It's in Metric, which is fine everywhere else in the world, but in America becomes a challenge when you're looking for the exact-size drill bit you'll need to use the included hardware. Even once you do get the holes drilled, the spreading bolts they include don't really do much-- At least, they didn't in my case. I ended up using my own bolts, screws and washers to secure this to the ceiling. I also threw in a big piece of double-sided foam tape for good measure. It's solid and secure, now! I will say this would have been easier to mount with an assistant. If you can recruit someone to help you, you'll be happier for it. All in all, though, the Cheetah Mounts APMFB Black Universal Projector Ceiling Mount was a great deal! Other mounts are more expensive, and I can't imagine they'd be any easier to use or better for the job. This one does it and remains affordable.

Amazing Customer Service! Good little mount
I used this on an Optoma HD131xe. I had to switch out all of the arms with the shorter ones, and then insert them backwards so they would line up. It only took three of the arms, also. This was fine as they did line up. Then, like another reviewer mentioned, the silver shaft that creates the pivot is not pressed into the round black base well enough to cinch it up, so I had to weld the shaft to the round base. Otherwise, there was too much float to get the picture aligned with the screen properly. After these minor changes, it does the job it should. ***UPDATE*** Surprisingly, I just received a call from the seller and they mentioned reading the above review. We talked about the adjustment I made to the mount in order to eliminate the extra movement. The lady explained the company reads customer reviews to ensure they are satisfied with the products they sell. I am impressed. When I wrote this review, I only did so to help others out but it may be even more beneficial because the seller says they will reassess the press-in part that causes the extra play. I have never experienced such over-the-top customer service. You have amazed me! She mentioned they warranty their products so if I ever run into a problem with anything I purchase from them in the future, to let them know and they will get it taken care of. Honestly, because I own a welder, it was an easy enough fix for me. You don't have to fully weld the shaft. It only needs a couple of tacks to eliminate the movement. Still, to further the awe-inspiring customer service experience, they are refunding the cost of the mount. I could live without the refund. Just getting the call and hearing the interest in learning how I corrected the problem was satisfactory. Buy from this seller! They are definitely worthy of my business! Plus, who is so in touch with their customers anymore? Kudos!

Mount for an Epson 2030 Projector
I bought this mount for my Epson 2030 Projector. I am mounting the projector from the basement ceiling joist, using the 90* pivot. ie mounting this on the side of a joist. The projector is a 3 hole design and by removing one of the arms I am able to get the other 3 mount arms connected to the projector. The only problem is that the 3 holes are at the front of the projector, and therefor has no back support. Without any support on the back of the projector, and because the mount allows 360* turning and lots of tilting, it will not hold the projector level. The back is too heavy with out support so it begins to drop, angling my picture up towards the ceiling. My solution to this problem was to remove the support chain that comes with the mount and I connected one end directly to my projector(it has a small loop in the back where the chain can connect) and I removed the other end from the mount itself. This loose end I hooked on a screw that I put into the joist. The screw is at a slight angle up to hold the chain on, so it can't slip straight off do to the weight. I made sure to put the screw just tight enough and at a spot that it holds the projector rear end up at a level position. With the mount arms at the front of the projector and this chain holding up the rear end, I am able to get a level picture. So I would give this mount only 2 stars for being "universal" as it would not work as the engineers intended, but with a little ingenuity, you can get a level picture and that's what matters. So for the fact I got it too work decent (not great) and that the mount is made of solid material, with no plastic, I would give it 4 stars. So if I average them together, I get a 3 star rating. This WILL work for the EPSON 2030, you just have to get creative on how to hold up the rear end. (The projector total weight is around 6 lbs so not heavy) I did not need to use the extender arms, but they were also very sturdy. This could be a great mount if the engineers just made it so the rotating unit would not move when locked in. This would prevent any tilting do to weight imbalances or shaking if people are walking on the floor above.

Works and a very good value.
Fairly easy to assemble...fit my projector. It is a little difficult to get it adjusted and make it hold tight...some slop in the bolts and tightening mechanism. There is a little rubber membrane that goes around the ball joint the assembly, the instructions do not address it...if I had not read about it in one of these reviews I may have thrown it away without realizing it. It is important to install this or I do not think the ball joint would work...its a little difficult to get it tight and hold even when properly assembled. You can do it and it does work, just takes some care and you must be careful if touching the projector or it may change the alignment. Keep in the mind the price...very economical so at the end of day I quite happy. Update: A couple of months after my original purchase I moved the projector and mount. I took a little more care this time tightening things and I must say it is holding very well at this time. Additionally, about a week ago I was contacted by customer service to express their concern with the tightening issues I described in my original review. They offered specific instructions for how best to tighten the ball joint (incremental tightening on both sides of the ball joint until secure). They also offered a partial refund to express their belief that customer satisfaction is top priority, AND have offered to send me an upgraded unit at no additional cost to me (I am allowed to keep the original unit as well). This is probably the most effort toward customer satisfaction of any company I have ever experienced. Wow. I am changing my rating to five star. The unit was a great value to begin with, but the level of customer service is exceptional...even more so given the dollar value of the transaction.
