This is an update to my original 3-star review (below): The seller, after seeing the problem I had with my original purchase, contacted me to ask for full details, including pictures, of the issue, how it developed, my usage pattern, etc. I have only had this happen a few times, so I was very surprised & pleased with their interest in providing a quality product, and my feedback to assist them in doing so.They replaced the product free of charge, and it is functioning flawlessly. Additionally, the material around the end of the connector is thicker than on my first one, so it appears I may have gotten a defective one.I have updated my review to 5 stars, because the breakout box functions that well, and the customer service could not possibly be any better.Original review: I really like the functionality and small size of this breakout box, but after frequent but not abusive use, the plastic around the pins on the female socket on the box itself started breaking off, making the connection very intermittent.

My car is a relatively rare, hand-built convertible that requires a special diagnostic tool dedicated to the convertible top control module. Unfortunately, the tool is rare at both dealers and the aftermarket. I'm using this breakout box to access the K-line via pin 7 in an attempt to control the convertible top. The box has worked well for regular use while my exploration continues.

The OBD2 Breakout Box Automotive Advanced OBDII Protocol Detector is a handy tool with some unique features, though its compatibility with my Autel scanner requires a bit of exploration. Not much I can think of that the two devices are supplementing each other's readings...What I appreciate most is its ability to monitor signals being sent to the scanner, providing peace of mind during diagnostics. The standout feature, however, is its utility when swapping a car battery. This tool effectively prevents the loss of ECU learned data, which is crucial in avoiding the awkward "relearning" phase that some vehicles undergo after a battery change. For anyone looking to maintain smooth vehicle operation during such maintenance, this device is a valuable addition to your toolkit.

Unable to comnect any of my dongles into the female end on the box.

This is a great tool for any tech. I like the voltage display. Need to know that it will have a small battery draw. But other than that it’s a good product.

I'm almost more excited about the large handful of jumper pins the BOB comes with. Perfect for performing drag/tension test on connector pins, or jumping across a connector to give the ability to amp clamp between the connector.The BOB has a nice length of wire to be able to comfortably probe the BOB without having to crawl under the dash to do so.Just buy it.

This breakout obd2 box is exactly what I always wanted.You get all the hookup wires. You get a nice long cable.But there's more! I really wanted this unit because it has the ability to back-feed power to the car, which keeps the car energized during battery swaps. It's a game-changer in my opinion.A+, no complaints, fits my needs perfectly.

Arrived quickly. Working with my equipment. Seems decently made.
