## Description

Seachem Cupramine Copper 100ml

Review: I followed up with 1 more treatment for good measure. There are no visible snails - Snail problem? Buy this! I had an infestation where I was left with very little options to resolve. Having fish in a live planted aquarium, there is no way I could take everything out, wipe it down, sterilize, replant & etc. Please be sure to read the directions! in a 75g tank, I added between 20 to 30 drops with each cycle. Within 96 hours of the first treatment, I would say 90% of the snails were completely gone. I followed up with 1 more treatment for good measure. There are no visible snails, no eggs or anything that would indicate I had a snail problem (other than eaten vegetation) to give cause for concern. Both of the plants and fish are seemingly happy and healthy. I would definitely recommend this to anyone with that kind of a problem and I would buy this product again if I should need it.
Review: Miracle Chemical - I have a 29 gallon aquarium that was overloaded with snails. Hundreds of them of various sizes. I treated the tank in the evening, and a few hours later, most of the snails were gone. I did the second treatment 48 hours later, and almost all the others were also dead. I'm not sure if this will 100% get rid of all of them, but I'm fine with having a few in there. Many people are against this type of chemical in aquariums, but it really works. I was pleasantly surprised how well it worked, and am very happy with it. My fish didn't appear to be affected by it either. Some others on here are saying their fish didn't do very well, but mine did fine. I have a very basic setup community tank with hearty species. Don't use this if you have shrimp, as they will also die along with the snails.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can this be used to treat plants to kill snails and their eggs?**
A: Don't use this to treat a snail problem. Cooper is toxic to most organisms (depending on the concentration) and plants are very sensitive to it. A safer alternative would be a dip of potassium permanganate.

**Q: how many gallons does this treat?**
A: 2,000 L525 US Gallons

**Q: will it kill beneficial bacteria in filters/live rock for marine?**
A: Not enough to matter.A: Cupramine may slightly retard the bacteria but overall it is safe to use and won't adversely affect the nitrifying bacteria. The reading of ammonia you're getting is most likely a false reading because Cupramine contains an organic amine which is very similar to ammonia in structure and the test kit is likely not able to distinguish between the two. You could try our MultiTest: Free and Total Ammonia test which does not have this issue and will not give a false positive... or you can use our Ammonia Alert which works on the same principal and will show only free ammonia.

**Q: If treating ick on my fish. Will this kill my plants in the tank or mystery snails?**
A: It will kill invertebrates but it should kill your plants.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ it works be careful
*by D***Y on October 12, 2025*

east to use just be careful it will kill your fish if you use too much. im trying to kill off a snail infestation and its killing off my barbs pretty quick. i definitely suggest treating in a nursing tank for ich or try to remove any fish to a nursing tank before treating for snails in the main tank. id also suggest a copper removal medium to treat with after use to get the levels back to normal.
