Review: These run Raspberry Pi 3 B+ and Pi 4 with no power issues. - I bought 15 of these, and run them directly from Creality Ender 3 printer power supplies (which are 24V), so that I can integrate my Pi's into the printers, and also free up precious wall plugs that I was needlessly running out of by using pi power supplies. The first batch of these arrived all bent up inside their bag, and I had no issue with them replacing them. Out of the 15, I had one that would not power on, and one that would give me the lightning bolt icon in octoprint, signifying that the pi was not getting enough current. All the other ones worked flawlessly and had no issues with underpowering even the pi 4's. For the price, and the ability to supply enough power in this small form factor, I can overlook 2 out of 15 of them being bad. Also, I saw earlier comments stating that they did not have positive and negative marked out, but they must have rectified that because mine were labeled.
Review: Power for my raspberry pi - I built a project that requires 12volts DC but also includes a Raspberry Pi 3B+ which runs on 5volts from a USB port. I tapped the 12v supply to feed one of these modules and was able to simply plug in the pi with a short USB cable. Seems to work fine, and saved me from having to use two separate wall warts just to power this project. The boards arrived as two sets of three modules each, so you need to separate them yourself. The PC board is lightly scored between modules so you can snap them apart. I’m sure the remaining ones will find a use in some future projects.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Hello! i need to use them with input 28vdc, will this voltage damage the unit? thanks!**
A: Anything over 20V will cause these units to shutdown. The original listing (when I bought them) said they had a range up to 24VDC input. None of them worked for me trying to use a 24VDC power supply. I have since come back to rate them and see that they have changed the description to indicate the max input voltage is 20VDC. I wasted my money on them.

**Q: Which is positive input and which is negative?**
A: Look closely, the ground is attached to ground plane. The positive input is isolated from the ground plane. It should be obvious.

**Q: I wanted to solder four 18650 flat top batteries to this. Can i recharge those batteries with this board after they are drained from charging phone?**
A: No, this board only works in one direction (high voltage -> 5V).
You need a Li-Ion/LiPo charger board for recharging 18650 cells.
E.g. https://www.amazon.com/Makerfocus-Charging-Lithium-Battery-Protection/dp/B071RG4YWM

**Q: How do i charge samsung galaxy a7 pad with this board? i use large solar panels dc. i don't use ac. i don't need to charge battery. the opposite way.**
A: The ac adapter’s turn ac into dc the battery in the phone is DC Just about everything that plugs in the AC converts it to DC for its internal workings televisions radios phones etc. USBs normally put out 5 V DC and 12 V DC you need to find out what your phone uses set the board to that DC voltage level and plug in your USB cable to your phone That’s basically the short and sweet for the actual hook up and all that information you’re gonna have to look on some stuff on the Internet

They work great nice and small, not 5 stars because I can't figure out how to turn off the red led
