Custom painting some Harry Potter wands that I 3D printed and I needed them to have the glossy wood look. This worked perfectly!

Great Finish For 3D Prints
Really easy to use and offers a nice glossy shine. I mainly use it with 3D prints and it works pretty well as a top coat after acrylic paint. It is very thin and runny, so make sure to use a brush and apply multiple coats. It is very sturdy after it dries though! I dropped my latest project from about 3 feet and there was no damage on that top coat.

Depends on what you are looking for in a gloss.
So far I have tried 3 different varnishes. Deco art American dura clear gloss varnish. Alleens acrylic gloss finish spray and deco art American triple thick brilliant brush on gloss. Well, I also tried Sculpey satin gloss too. The spray is definitely my favorite as far as simplicity. Makes days worth of work turn into hours. Does a nice job too once you get the hang of it. Biggest drawback I would say is it stays tacky for a few days so you need to leave your pieces sit. The triple think gloss is very thick. It does a beautiful job and is dry by the next day. The one Iโm doing the review for is ok. Itโs not as thick and not as glossy if that is the kind of look you want. I didnโt really care for the Sculpey satin because I wanted a glossier finish. I guess it all depends on your preference and the amount of time you want to take doing the gloss. Right now the spray is my favorite but that is because it is so much easier on my back and neck because Iโm not hand paining for hours. I do really like the American Brand products. One more Iโd like to try is pledge floor wax. It makes your pieces beautiful from pictures Iโve seen. I can definitely recommend this one though. Just not a super high gloss but still glossy enough to tell you did something to your pieces. Iโm working with polymer clay doing jewelry. Thatโs what Iโm using my glosses for. Update: Forget the spray if you are using it for clay. It never dries. I ruined about 50 earrings using that. Also, I did just try the pledge floor wax. Itโs beautiful on clay art. Dries fast and doesnโt really leave brush strokes. I tried it by painting it on with a flat brush. Also works putting it on a cloth and rubbing your piece with the cloth. Not quite as shiny that way but it depends on what look you are going for. It does make your fingers sticky but it washes off no problem.

I love this stuff
Works great to coat and shine rock art. One coat protects the paint two coats gives it a shine and three coats gives it a nice gloss. It's a bit pricey, it would be better if it came in a bigger bottle but a few drops is all it takes to do a good coating.

Works great on polymer clay
I've used this product for years and it's still good for coating polymer clay. If I need a super durable shine on something that will be handled frequently, I'll go with a two part epoxy. But this one is so quick and easy, dries fast, and is long lasting to add a thin coat of shiner.

Great Rock Pebble Weatherproof varnish
Absolutely Brilliant for rock / pebble painting to go outside. Make sure your acrylic paint is well and truly dry and set before varnishing, I leave them a good 24 hours before varnishing. Nice high shine finish after 3 coats on top of the Acrylic paints I use. Touch dry and able to give a re coat in 10 minutes then leave for 24 to 48 hours to set rock hard. Ran product under tap and water just beads off and even with a good rub its doesn't shift! Perfectly weatherproof for the rocks to go outside. No nasty strong odors like you get with other varnishes so I am able to varnish inside without stinking out the house. Its a brush on solution and my only advice is to brush it very thinly to begin with in one direction and any lettering a quick brush over is best.....let first coat dry for 10 to 15 mins...then you can apply and slop it on as thick you wish. I found that if I applied a thick coat first, any lettering / outlining in paint pens will bleed ever so slightly. Problem solved by being sparing with the first top coat. Wonderful stuff! I will order a much larger bottle from now on tho. One little 2oz pot covered 46 large Scottish cobbles with three coats each.
