There is a hand position for that (actually 2, one I prefer, YMMV). This thing is so well thought out and hand friendly for so many tasks. Minimalists should run. Not your game. This is the utility knife I wish I bought years ago. The ease of use and hand-to-tool fit is a welcome change to the old style straight knives. The handle is easier to hold and eliminates slippage. I also appreciate the locking blade mechanism that is easy to use and provides a measure of safety.
