You set these up just like any other two channel speaker set up. There is a dramatic difference between the 803s and 805s. I love the 803s for their incredible spacious sound that is exciting even at low volumes and the bass response is perfect for an apartment situation. The 805s have a lot more bass that is present at all times. The taller cabinet makes a huge difference. The downside to the 805s is that there is less coherence to the overall sound. They do sound similar (but with more bass) but they just lack the magic of the 803s. Another problem with the 805s is that for a tower they are short and the tweeter is placed way to low relative to your ears and they would look stupid on 10" stands. I think if you want towers with more bass just step up to the 807s or 809s or something else altogether. I own 3 sets of 803s and returned a pair of 805s because of the sound and one also had a defective tweeter and the other tower had a corner bashed in from the factory. **Q: can you connect them via monitor or laptop?** A: The Jamo S 803 is a passive speaker that requires a speaker wire connection to a receiver or an amplifier for audio signal and power.
