Lead free?** A: clay, glazed and lead free. needs curing by soaking, oiling and baking. Use at low temp. in oven for slow cooked meals. **Q: Is this tagine lead free?** A: yes it is lead free.thanks **Q: can this tagine be used in a grill or smoker using the indirect heat method?** A: I've never even thought about using the tagine this way. It would depend on how high the top of your grill is; I would think it would have to be taller than the tagine and it's lid. Also, you should nake sure the tagine has been soaked and seasoned, and if I were to use mine this way I'd use something under it to protect it from excess heat, and I'd put it on the grill/smoker before I light the fire. You want to protect the tagine any way you can. **Q: I have a glass top stove do I need a diffuser? my largest burner is 9 inches is that to small for this size of tagine?** A: I too have a glass top electric stove and the first time I used the clay tagine it cracked.Now I bought an induction unit and a diffuser. The induction unit allows me to set the temperature which is impossible on the electric stove.
