## Description

Product Description GREAT STUFF PRO Gaps & Cracks 24 oz Insulating Foam Sealant From the Manufacturer GREAT STUFF Gaps & Cracks is a polyurethane-based insulating foam sealant that fills, air-seals and insulates small gaps (up to 3 inch) inside or out. But you probably guessed as much from the name. What you might not have guessed is how easy it is to use or how it expands to take the shape of cracks and voids to form a durable, airtight, and water-resistant bond that eliminates unwanted airflow and helps reduce condensation.

Review: Reliable and Effective Insulation Foam - The Great Stuff Pro Gaps & Cracks Insulating Foam Sealant has been a reliable product for my home improvement projects. This 24 oz can provides a generous amount of foam, which is great for sealing gaps and cracks around the house. The orange color makes it easy to see where the foam has been applied, ensuring complete coverage. One of the things I like most about this product is its ability to expand and fill even the smallest gaps, providing excellent insulation. It adheres well to various surfaces, including wood, metal, and masonry, and creates a solid seal that lasts. The foam dries quickly, allowing me to move on to the next step of my project without much delay. A minor downside is that the foam can be a bit messy if not applied carefully, but using the right applicator gun helps manage this. For anyone tackling insulation tasks, this foam sealant is an excellent choice. Its expansive properties, strong adhesion, and ease of use make it a valuable tool for sealing and insulating efficiently.
Review: Great Stuff Pro is the real thing - Hi, in addition to being a homeowner DIYer, I have several BPI certifications and teach residential and commercial energy conservation, which includes air sealing and insulation. If you are considering using mono-component foam for more than one very small job, be aware of a few related facts. Firstly, mono-component spray foam expands very little, no matter what kind you buy. If you need more expansion, you have to get a bi-component product such as Tiger Foam (to spray wall cavities or rim/band joists). Secondly, the spray bottles you buy at the Home Depot should be used all at once and not stored for a long time before using or they get clogged. This is true even for the ones rated "reusable". Thirdly, these products are typically not fire-rated. Dow Great Stuff Pro needs its own dispenser gun. You can get the least expensive of the 3 which costs around $30 and will last you a long time if used correctly. Hence, this product is more expensive at the beginning but it has the following advantages: the foam is fire-rated; MUCH better dispensing control in terms of bead size and consistency; no overspraying when you release the trigger; the same bottle can officially stay on the gun for 1 month but users report that they are having no problems after 6 months. Two final points: spray foam is the best air sealer and insulation on the market but is expensive. For larger jobs such as open wall cavities, consider laying down no more than 1" of foam first and then adding much less expensive bat insulation on top of it. Do not underestimate how wickedly sticky this stuff is. DO NOT get it on your (good) clothing, skin, hair, glasses, etc or else. I found that desertcart is the right place to get foam and gun in terms of price and availability. This foam cures with the moisture in the air. In dry weather, moist (not soak) the cavity you want to fill with a light spray of water before applying the foam. You will get twice as much expansion and no voids.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: The product. Description Says "Great Stuff 341557 24-Ounce Gaps and Cracks Gun" but did not come with the Crack Gun or straw?**
A: The gun is purchased separately. This is only the material refill. The smaller size of this product comes with the straw.

**Q: can this be used as a fire stop within a commercial firewall**
A: No, it is not a fire stop. It is classified as a fire block which means it impedes the spread of fire by restricting airflow (by sealing the air gap).

**Q: Will this can work in any position?**
A: yes, per manufacturer website: all-direction dispensing

**Q: Can i use this to seal a gap in the corner, bottom of my garage door without it sticking to and ripping the bottom gasket? Thanks.**
A: This will stick to whatever you put it on. Once it cures it will not.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fills gaps easily and much better than stuffing fiberglass insulation NOT for doors and windows!
*by G***R on August 19, 2019*

This is for use with an application gun I use it on a regular basis for insulation and or Fill gaps a couple of inches wide that I need filled and sealed . TIPS It expands quite a bit so don’t fill the gap all the way up or you will have to trim it down once it dries it sticks to Many surfaces but not plastic Do not get it on your hands because it takes days to get it off DO NOT USE ON THE GAPS AROUND DOORS AND WINDOW JAMBS. It expands with enough pressure to move the jamb and cause it to be too tight around the door and or window they make a completely different formula for doors and windows that does not expand with as much force
