In test I found the useful range to be about 20mm to 1200mm. The sensor will detect up to 1800mm, but the readings become more unstable as you approach the maximum value with frequent wild swings that complicate extracting information. It is realistically usable at measurement rates of 25 to 50 Hz, with 30 Hz being the sweet spot. The sensor has 2 mounting holes and comes with a pair of small screws. It also comes with a short (~150 mm) wiring harness. Its small size and light weight allow flexibility in placement. The sensor is not water resistant.
