Love this. I used this to make armor and emblems for a Scorpion costume and it was very easy to use. Very easy to carve with an Exacto knife type blade. I even remade a portion of a skull piece for my boot armor with this that I had already made from some other not so easy to carve foam once I realized how much easier this was to work with and it took me much less time and they looked 100 times better since there weren't extra chunks being ripped as I tried to carve them. I used E6000 glue to layer 4-5 squares of this, drew the basic shape/size of what I was going to be carving, then was able to create a 3D emblem type piece. When done I sprayed with Plasti dip and it didn't have any negative effect on the foam which I had read some people saying happened with some other foam varieties.

Just what I was looking for. I'm making a medusa headpiece and needed a (preferably black) foam that I could cut, paint, and glue. Bingo! Very enjoyable to work with. I had to purchase a pair of very sharp craft scissors, and my forearms got a little workout. But cuts well.

Not very different than the soft variant of the same product. I needed something less flexible to hold its form better and this wasnt it.

Worked perfectly for the making of our cosplay prop

Foam is very soft, even the “extra firm” kind. Good for padding only. Foam bends and does not retain shape when cut. Disappointing and misleading product.

Came in good shape and good wrapping.

Was really excited to try this foam for a commission job and at first glance everything seemed fine. It is good quality and density like advertised. But it came DAMAGED!! I hadn't even whipped out any heat tools or anything. I opened it on a clean surface and all. But as soon as I started tracing an outline I found a huge Melted spot and holes... Very upset. There are also a lot of small etching lines on some of it from packaging. Not a problem if you do lots of coating but an issue if you need small detail jobs..
