Just kidding...** A: Well, yes.. you can.. its holds the fishing pole, in a very steady position. Absolutely no shake or vibrations. Its a fantastic value addition. **Q: will this prevent the mic from rotating if it is pointed at an angle toward the interviewee, or can it only be used to hold the mic pointed downward?** A: Because the rubberized coating, this will prevent the boom pole from rotating. As long as the mic doesn’t rotate on the boom pole, you will be good. I use this to point my mic directly towards my subjects and it works great! **Q: what is the diameter of the shaft?** A: The diameter of the shaft is about 2inch **Q: It looks great,but how would you attach it to a mic stand?** A: Normally you wouldn't put this in a mic stand. It's regular use would be in a C-Stand arm so that you can suspend the shotgun mic in either an under-up or and up-down to target the best direction to go at the sound from your subject.
