Review: Clear and Organized. - Not as often recommended by native Japanese speakers, but they don't necessarily know how native English speakers learn. You need to really put in the time to make proper use of these. That being said I can't imagine a better way of learning Japanese, it's very clear and there's an app online to hear all the native pronunciations. Properly engaging with these two books with workbooks you'll be able to read, write, and speak Japanese at an N4 or A2 level. They're designed for use in a class, but honestly you can learn on your own (though it'll likely be a bit slower.)

Not as often recommended by native Japanese speakers, but they don't necessarily know how native English speakers learn. You need to really put in the time to make proper use of these. That being said I can't imagine a better way of learning Japanese, it's very clear and there's an app online to hear all the native pronunciations.
