I actually use them with another brand of patch (ones larger than these) but they work great, keeping the sticky patch off of the sensor. I've had to change patches a few times for a single sensor and having the cap made it easily possible.

the little plastic cages/caps for the sensor appear to help avoid catching the sensor and pulling it loose, bad part is if your "band aid" comes off so does your cap and if you don't notice then its bye bye cap. I usually wear a long sleeve shirt so I have been lucky to find them.
