The original peluso's teleme cheese. Originally developed in the peluso cheese factory. Teleme is an american semi-soft cheese, with a unique, mild and nutty flavor that is very similar to brie. Tomales bay teleme cheese earned the american cheese society first-place award for 1992 and 1993.

**Q: The only mention here of weight says shipping weight is 4 ounces. Something is wrong. Is this the one pound block I have gotten in the past?**
A: We've been buying this for years. It has always been 1 pound.

A: Start refrigerating this as soon as you get it.  It comes wonderfully packed.

**Q: Can you freeze Teleme?**
A: yes you can freeze teleme, but like other cheeses they tend to lose flavor when frozen, also when freezing keep in airtight container or bag.

**Q: Can You fry this cheese?**
A: The cheese melts beautifully.  If you bread or coat it and fry with low heat for a short time it would probably come out.  There are recipes sent with the order.  It is an underappreciated really great cheese.

Great spread on sourdough bread and drizzled with EV Olive Oil, Cracked pepper and salt. Yummy. I live in Nevada and they don't sell here so this is great to be able to have it shipped. I will be a long time customer. My husband grew up in the bay area in an Italian family. They always had this on hand. He shared it with me and I was hooked instantly. Just wish we could get it here in Nevada but this was delivered very fast so not a long wait.
