Review: Immense sound! - This little amp is nothing short of astounding! When I first got it I wasn't particularly impressed with the preset sounds and then I started fiddling about on the app. There are lots of different amps and effects to choose from and you can get a whole range of tones. It won't take you long to find 'YOUR' sounds. Save them to the presets and away you go! I don't know how Positive Grid do it, but you get this immense sound coming out of this tiny box. If you like Dave Gilmour and have the 'Delicate Sounds of Thunder' live album, you can actually get something very close to that immense sound he creates. The app is just brilliant! You have all these backing tracks from fusion, to soul, to rock, that you can jam along with and the sound of your guitar will be synced with the track perfectly. I've tried doing the same thing with my Katana and it wasn't as good. They just don't sound as synced. I hardly ever play my big amps any more as the mini pretty much does anything I need. If you're toying about with the idea of getting one of these ask yourself, 'What volume do I play at most of the time?' I play at home and don't need big volumes, in fact I rarely put my other amps above 2. Also because it's battery powered you can take it anywhere, which I can't do with my little Blackstar Fly. The Mini is really well made and sits nicely in any space. There are a lot of other useful features on the app like showing you the chords you're playing in real time and I think it makes you more aware of how you play. I've been playing for nearly 40 years and I don't think I've ever enjoyed playing an amp as much as this. One thing I would note however, is that if you're playing a single coil guitar and you have the noise gate on, it will choke out the higher notes particularly on the high E string. You won't get this as bad with humbuckers. Just turn the noise gate off and this will help. For the money you pay, you get A LOT and I really mean that. There are quite a few reviewers on YouTube who actually prefer the Mini over the bigger Spark 40. Treat yourself to one, I don't think you'll regret it!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can you get a travel bag/case for this expensive little guy?**
A: I've looked for one also, including their website, and haven't found one. Mosisio has a camera case that looks like it will work ($30.99 on Amazon). I have it in my cart but haven't purchased yet.

**Q: How does the mini differ from the larger 40W one (besides the 10 vs 40W power)?**
A: I do not have a lot of experience with the Spark 40, just a quick demo that was impressive, I admit. So aside from the obvious power difference :) the reason I chose the Mini was because of how truly small it really is, less than half the size of the Spark 40 and considerably lighter. Also a major factor for me is that I already have an excellent small combo amp ( 1960's Fender Champ) so I was looking for a very, very small amp to partner with my Yamaha SLG 200N when getting together with friends. Literally something I could toss in a bag and throw over my shoulder, or take camping.  The Yamaha and the Spark Mini are a great combination! It sounds far better than you would expect from such a small amp, and with their app, is very versatile. I have also played my Tele and bass through it with very good results. But always keep in mind that this is all relative to its size! It cannot defy the laws of physics (though it takes a good stab.)
Then there is price. When I bought my mini it sold for $200 (USD) which was a consideration. It is pricey but IMHO when compared to other tiny amps, there is the Spark Mini, and the rest. (Note: There is also a very small amp that sells for about $100 that is pretty d@#$n good. Not on the same level as the Mini, but if your budget is limited (and haven't we all been there!) it's more than worth a look.

A: Okay.... I am assuming your acoustic guitar has a built in pick up, or you are using an accessory pick up. Either way is good. This little amp works extremely well with my Yamaha SLG200N, Fender Telecaster, etc. It even works (sort of) with a bass. The app is quite good, though it does take a bit to learn to navigate it. It certainly is not overkill. Kept within its limits, the Positive Grid Spark Mini is an astounding performer. Much better than you would expect. Do keep in mind that it is a tiny 10 watt extremely portable amp. Could you gig with it at your local Starbucks? Yes. But much beyond that... 
As good as this little thing is, it cannot defy the laws of physics.
But it comes really close.

**Q: Does this come with the optional crimson grille?**
A: Mine did, but I got it in a promotional deal. I think you have to buy it separately now.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This little amp surprised me, it's a superb gadget

I pre-ordered the Spark Mini and it arrived 11 days before I expected. Setup was easy, I upgraded the firmware to the latest version and it was ready to go. Despite of having fewer knobs that its big brother, the app makes it very easy to configure a rig like the big one I have. I got the tones I like quickly and assigned to the presets knob. It sounds very good, much better than another portable (but bigger) amp I have, plus the Mini works as a bluetooth speaker. Battery last a lot, in fact I have charged once a week with one hour of playing daily. It looks very good and finish is high quality. It's pricey but it packs a lot of technology. In other countries, those who pre-ordered it got the red grid as well, not our case in Australia, hence the missing star in value for money.
