The seat shipped (A-LGT100YL) is distributed by A&I Products, Rock Valley, IA and is manufactured in Turkey. Quality and comfort wise it appears comparable to the OEM seat but it is missing the molded in hinges on the bottom of the seat pan used for mounting it to the John Deere X300 Lawn Tractor's seat tilt bar. This was surprising since the photo used in the Amazon product listing shows the hinges protruding from the bottom of the seat pan. Initially, I assumed the vendor shipped the wrong product and I requested a return which was accepted. Then without explanation or accompanying instructions, a few days after I received the seat via UPS, a metal bracket arrived in the mail from the vendor which could be bolted to the bottom of the seat to facilitate mounting on the X300 Lawn Tractor. Once I mounted the bracket on the seat bottom, installation on the Lawn Tractor was straight forward though the tilt bar protrudes out either side an inch or so but it does not look like it will be a problem. A three star rating is probably a little hard since the seat does appear to be of comparable quality to OEM, it is comfortable, and it is cheaper than a replacement seat from the John Deere Dealer but a little truth in advertising would be appreciated. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ When the factory seat gets a rip... *by R***Y on Reviewed in the United States on June 5, 2014* This has been a super find since the seat that came on our X300 apparently got snagged on a limb during its first four years in service. The only thing this item lacked was the proper 'bump' on the underside to contact the 'dead-man' safety switch, so I had to do a field service invention to make it work. As long as you don't pull the seat up and inspect the underside, you'll never know it isn't the factory deal. Certainly it looks and rides as well or better than the factory deal and the foam isn't all coming out where the rip occurred. We're happy with it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ John Deere Riding Mower Seat *by W***N on Reviewed in the United States on February 24, 2014* The Riding Mower Seat came right on time. Because it was cold and my tractor had not yet been serviced I put off the installation until this month. I installed it during commercial breaks while watching TV. 1st commercial I disconnected the safety connection under the seat; twist and pry out. 2nd commercial I took off the retaining clip on the 12" pin (thin nose pliers), pulled out the pin and removed the seat. 3rd commercial I put in the new seat with the pin, attached the retaining clip, and attached the safety connection (push and twist). After the movie I got on the Mower, turned the key, and voila, it started right up.
