What are the actual dimensions of the tabletop?** A: I measured the table top as 33.5 x 33.5, a perfect square from metal rim to metal rim. The height was about 27.75 inches. Hope this helps! By the way, I love the table. **Q: how tall is this table?** A: 28 inches from ground to top of table. **Q: What is the weight of the table and what is the weight of each chair?** A: Well they are very light. I'd say about 10 pounds for the chair and 15 for the table. They may be light but they are bolted down pretty good. **Q: Is the top padded?** A: Yes. The top is padded. There's a spongy cushion under a synthetic black covering. It's not the best surface for writing, so if I'm going to use a ballpoint pen, I like to write on top of a clipboard or on top of a hardcover book. I'm not sure what the covering is made of, but it was REALLY stinky when I first took it out of the box. I had to wash it a few times to get rid of that odor. Also, if you look at a few of the comments, you'll see that the cover tends to arrive with rips on the corners.
