you can immediately control the popular WS2812, SK6812 (and compatible) with the Arduino or Raspbery (or any other system). Yes and? That went before? Adafruit Library and Arduino -> no problem. Ahhhh yes, the world isn't quite soooo easy: the Arduino, the younger people like to look at it, is only an AVR process cup Mega328, sounds big? Unfortunately it is niche! Does it have fun programming? Added. Only the AVR controller is fully loaded with the control of the Digi-Dots (Neo-Pixels). It is due to the fast protocol and the way of producing the same with an AVR -> Bitbanging. The strip protocol cannot be easily generated via DMA, but the AVR is easy to weak and has no DMA. If you control digi-dots, then that's all the other things the Arduino could do, keyboard or sensor query, treat events - simple process control is no longer possible with LED control. Ok, you take a second Arbuino - stop it! It's getting oppulent, right? It is better to take a small circuit board, called Digi-Dot Booster, because the Digi-Dot Booster takes care of the Digi-Dot protocols. You simply say the Digi-Dot Booster what to be spent, rainbow, drains or static colours, from LED to LED, backwards or forwards, graduated, fast slow, etc. This is very simple and ultra-fast using the script. Down from 94% processor load to 0.04%. The Arduino can now do what it is meant for - drain control! The Digi-Dot Booster takes care of the previously complex signalling alone. And it can do that much, much better.
