The watch fits into the band perfect and snaps closed. When adjusting the strap it has tongs that slide into the band and a sliding piece that doesn't allow the watch to un-strap by itself. It literally took about 10 seconds to snap the the watch in. It took longer to remove the apple straps from the watch than it did to install watch to the case/strap. It does function 100% the same as without the new band. I have used this in the field while doing infrastructure investigations and have smashed it against everything you can think of working in tight spaces and you know what? The case shows zero signs of damage, totally protects my watch and it easily washes up clean.
