You're paying extra for it to be ground and put in non-recyclable plastic sachets. The thermometer DOES work but it is slow. You need to stick it to the side of the bottle and it requires you to press on it for a little while and then it will indicate its range of temperatures. Keep it at the lower end. The upper end of OK is painful. The valve worked perfectly fine. Do NOT put boiling water into the bottle. That would be stupid. a/ boiling water will leach chemicals out of the plastic, possibly damage the valve and bottle. b/ it'll take a long, long time to cool down c/ boil a kettle, let it cool down so much you can tolerate it on your skin. Pour it into the bottle 3/4 full d/ check temperature. Too cool, heat the remaining water in the kettle for A FEW SECONDS and add it to the rest of the. Check temp. Too hot, wait. Test again.
