I've tried spiral tongs, straight barrelled tongs, extra large barrelled tongs, and even the large plate that is supposed to create loose waves, and none have ever come close to what this does.The wand itself is fairly light and doesn't feel worth the price you paid... but now I use it regularly I realise that it is FAR better to have a light wand when curling than a heavy one that would make your arms ache. If you've not used a wand before, you'll need a few attempts to master the technique of holding the wand vertically to your head and wrapping the hair around it, and whatever you do, wear your heat proof glove as this gets very hot indeed! But once you get the hang of it, and work in sections, you'll love what this can do for your hair. It takes me about 20 mins to half an hour to curl my long hair, so if you have shorter hair you'll speed through it.Curls are large and glossy, and if you leave them to cool for about 10 mins before raking through with your fingers, they will last all day, and sometimes even into the next day. As the curls drop, it seems to make your hair even bigger too. I have never had so many compliments about my hair before. One thing I've noticed is that the curls can tangle (my hair is almost at elbow length) , but then I do have extensions and perhaps that's why? I 100% recommend this Curling Wand and suggest you throw away all your old tongs and curling wands as you won't be needing them again! ### ⭐ Crackling noise with a burning smell. *by P***E on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 October 2018* I’m not 100% sure these are real. They make an awful crackling noise and smell like they’re on fire. Gutted because I’ve only just used them and now it’s too late to return them!
