Sometimes the space around the instep maybe really tight for some people, it depends on the thickness and flexibility of your ankle. **Q: How tall are size 5** A: From the ground just under 16" - 40 cms. Above heel 14" - 37 cms. I'm 5'2" and boots come below back of knee. Am very pleased with them. I normally have size 4, but have a size larger and wear thick socks. **Q: How flexible are the boots? First pair lasted 30 years then the rubber split at the heal. Can't complain about that. Looking forward to another 30+ years in this pair. Worth the money. Hunters fleece socks make them toasty too in the winter, but you need that one size bigger to accommodate the socks and to fit in general.
