## Description

ADS1256 8-channel 24-bit ADC module is equipped with TI ADS1256IDB micro-power consumption, high-precision ADC chip and 2.5V reference voltage source, SPI interface communication, data output rate up to 30ksps, support single-ended and differential input Interface Description: 5V, GND:5V power input; SCLK, DIN, DOUT, CS:SPI communication interface; DRDY:ADS1256 data ready output (active low); PDWN:ADS1256 synchronization/shutdown power input (active low level); AIN0-AIN7: The analog voltage input terminal can be used as 8 independent single-ended inputs or 4 groups of differential inputs (the measured voltage should be shared with the module). Since the ADS1256 power supply voltage is 5V and the measured voltage should be 2V lower than the power supply voltage, the module is only suitable for measuring analog voltages within 3V. The module provides STC15W & & STM32 single chip microcomputer 8-channel serial port display reference program and STC89C52 single chip microcomputer 4-channel 1602_LCD display reference program, of which the simple test method of STC89C52 single chip microcomputer 1602LCD liquid crystal is as follows: 5V and GND are connected to DC 5V power supply, SCLK, DIN, DOUT, DRDY and CS are respectively connected to P1.2, P1.3, P1.4, P1.5 and P1.6 of single chip microcomputer, AIN0, AIN1, AIN2 and AIN3 are respectively connected to 2.5V, 2.5V, 2.5V and 2.5V (the measured voltage should be shared with the ADS1256), and four groups of voltage values will be displayed on the 1602 liquid crystal, among them, the first, second and fourth groups are the voltage values of single-ended input of AIN0, AIN1 and AIN3, and the third group is the difference of AIN2-AIN3. The four groups of voltage values are about 2.5V, 2.5V, 0V and 2.5V respectively.

Review: The product fails to work right out of the package! I'm hyper paranoid about static electricity and have anti-stat bags and mat to protect devices. Unbagging a product means grounding the outer bag, making sure that I'm grounded properly and then blowing into the outer bag to provide sufficient humidity to ensure no internal static remains. Next the inner bag is removed and opened by cutting it open with an Xacto knife. The RPi 4B is powered down. The leads for the connections are labeled and connected to the device. The device is immediately connected to ground on the RPi 4B. Next all of the SPI links are connected. Lastly the +5V line is connected. Powering on the RPi the pigpio - daemon is started, then the benchmark code run. The code initially reads all the registers (all 11 of them). The image shows the results on a functioning ADS1256. This device returns all zeros! The oscilloscope sees /DRDY strobing, but despite repeated attempts to read registers nothing but zeros exits the device. Clearly the 7.68 MHz clock is running, and most probably AD is producing data. Without the ability to read the data, one has a data sink, not a data source.
Review: Cuando lo probé sentí muy caliente el ADC, por lo que asumí que se quemó, revise la conexión y era correcta, cuando lo estaba revisando vi que la PCB esta mal, mi tarjeta tenia continuidad con GND y VCC!

Cuando lo probé sentí muy caliente el ADC, por lo que asumí que se quemó, revise la conexión y era correcta, cuando lo estaba revisando vi que la PCB esta mal, mi tarjeta tenia continuidad con GND y VCC!

NEEDS Documentation. Unit was properly wired to a load cell and RPI-5 by a trained technician. RPi5 running python shows all zeros no matter what channel, singe or differential, sample speed ,or gain setting. Load cell(s) tests good. Returning for replacement. I'll modify my review if it works.
