I tried three hard disks *by J***A on 9 September 2016* Having bought this item based on the stellar reviews I had seen, I must confess I was disappointed! I tried three hard disks, two from broken laptops and one from an external hard drive but they were not recognised. In disk management, while trying to initialise the disk I was greeted with a 'fatal device hardware error' message. At first I thought the hard drives were faulty, and tried to search for similar problems on the Internet. This yielded no satisfactory results. I changed the usb cables as advised by some sites to no avail. Finally I decided to uncouple one of my external hard drives (transcend store jet) to try if the broken laptop's hard drive would work. To my surprise it worked after connection. This shows that the SATAIII connector for the MANTISTEK hard drive caddy must have been faulty which renders the whole product useless no matter how solid and beautiful the body might look!
