It is easy to use and does a brilliant job. When it arrived I said to my wife 'keep the box it will probably go back.' Not a chance of that - well made machine, sharpens bits perfectly. A YouTube video mentioned split-point. I had no idea what that was but Google AI explained. There is a little hole in the top of the machine which allows you to to grind a small secondary bevel (split point) easily with no further adjustments. This (by all accounts) stops the bit slipping and is easy to do on all of your bits. What a brilliant idea. A great addition to any workshop Top Class! and at a great price. You need to follow the instructions very carefully the first time (keep the initial tightening pretty loose) .. after that it's automatic and very fast to set up; and the wheel looks like diamond grit (?). Brought 3 blunt bits back to razor sharp tips in under 2 minutes. Will save a fortune in the long run and having the option to bring back a bit to new life right there in minutes rather than having to order new bits or worse, complete sets, is just a dream. Everything looks and feels very robust and the critical parts are all metal. Different drill point angles are more effective in different materials. 118 degrees is a good compromise for general use with standard geometry drills. More modern geometries with split points and the like work well at 130 - 140 degrees. The more obtuse angles are better with harder materials. If you're drilling stainless steel every day, you might like to stick with 135 degrees. If you're doing more general DIY and hobby stuff from time to time, 118 degrees should be fine. If there's an expert out there, they might give you better advice. As you've invested in the more expensive cobalt HSS bits, it might be worth continuing shopping around for a reasonably-priced sharpener that will do this angle. I haven't come across one yet. **Q: Does this sharpen masonry bits** A: I'm afraid not. Only conventionally pointed twist drills, for use on metal, wood, etc. **Q: The fuse inside the machine has blown.
