Connecting two tubes together and passing the pipe down the dipstick hole followed by pumping a handle a few times is all that is required to drain the engine oil. It's always better to change the oil when it's warm and the oil is collected in a clear, plastic, tall container which makes collecting and disposal of the old oil easy (dispose of the old oil into the newly bought oil can, without spills). The container has rings at 1 litre points to show how much oil has been removed. Removing oil (5.5 litres from my Ford Focus) with the small pipe took 40 minutes, giving me time to read a paper and have a cup of tea. The same operation on my Golf, using a larger pipe required only 4 minutes to extract 4 litres of oil. Although a filter change is sometimes required, the crawl under the car and engine cover removal was not necessary on my cars. Other jobs included the lawn mower oil change and central heating header tank clean out - I highly recommend the Pela 650, so much so that I bought one as a present for a friend recently, who is chuffed to bits with it! ### ⭐⭐⭐ 3.0 out of 5 stars Slow *by T***O on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 9 May 2023* It’s ok and did job, but you have to wiggle it about a bit when it stops sucking.
