The Pentek DGD-2501 Big Blue Water Filter features a dual gradient polypropylene cartridge that delivers 3X the dirt holding capacity of standard sediment filters. ## Description

DGD Series Cartridges are manufactured from 100% pure polypropylene and are sized for use in Pentair Pentek Big Blue Filter Housings. DGD Series Cartridges are designed for purity and will not impart taste, odor or color to the liquid being filtered. Additionally, the polypropylene construction provides superior chemical resistance. The DGD Series' advanced design combines selective final filtration with appropriate pre-filtration to achieve up to three times the dirt holding capacity of similar size sediment cartridges and even greater capacity than standard spun or string-wound cartridges. The larger diameter of the filter reduces the particle load, allowing it to operate at higher velocities. The effective filter depth is increased to a full 233%. This increased depth provides very high particulate reduction efficiencies and added loading capacity. The design and performance characteristics of the DGD Series Cartridges make them an excellent choice for all residential, rural, municipal and commercial applications.

Review: The dual gradient filter by Pentek is by far the best I have ever used, and I've tried them all. I pump spring fed creek water to fill my cistern through these filters and it has a fair amount of silt in the water. This filter lasts the longest on a fill before clogging and the water is the cleanest compared to the other pleated filters and ball of string type I've used before. I also use a 20" version as a sediment filter coming out of the cistern to the softener. The life of this filter greatly depends on the cistern filling filters I use. I like the dual gradient style because they are more resistant to clogging than any other. Kind of reminds me of the outer and inner air filter idea on a big diesel. I'll use these as long as they make them.

The dual gradient filter by Pentek is by far the best I have ever used, and I've tried them all. I pump spring fed creek water to fill my cistern through these filters and it has a fair amount of silt in the water. This filter lasts the longest on a fill before clogging and the water is the cleanest compared to the other pleated filters and ball of string type I've used before. I also use a 20" version as a sediment filter coming out of the cistern to the softener. The life of this filter greatly depends on the cistern filling filters I use. I like the dual gradient style because they are more resistant to clogging than any other. Kind of reminds me of the outer and inner air filter idea on a big diesel. I'll use these as long as they make them.
