I have been taping my bunion joint toe in a similar fashion and was very glad to see this product. My joint is considered severe so the gel toe separators were not enough (had to use 2 together) and they wouldn't stay put through vigorous excerise. This brace stays put though weight training, high intensity training and running. I haven't notice any bunching that others mentioned and don't really see the purpose of the heel strap but the ingenious design of elastic pulls my toe enough into the right position so my joint doesn't hurt so much.
