It's brought back such nostalgic gaming and everything seems to still work fine with it . I would recommend buying one at the right price from a trusted highly rated seller. I was lucky and got that , its a brilliant piece of gaming history especially as you can play some older games that you can download from the eshop . As of now the eshop for 3DS is still running even though all DS models have been discontinued. The usual eshop card I buy works with the Switch and most other platforms including the 3DS so you are able to buy funds and download older games and the games that were out on the 3DS . It's great for pokemon as blue , red , yellow , gold , silver , crystal pokemon games are available on the eshop on 3DS (not switch or Wii U) and obviously all DS and 2DS cartridges will work with my 3DS XL . I've used Pokemon Pearl , Black , White , Soul Silver and Heart Gold fine with my 3DS and they are all older DS games . If you want to play any Gameboy Advance games your better of getting a certain older model of DS that has both Gameboy Advance cartridge slots and DS slots but as far as I am aware no 3DS was released to take Gameboy Advance cartridges aswell . So choose wisely and always read any reviews of how the , what has to be now , second hand 3DS , 2DS , DS or any retro console was recieved . It's never great paying a lot of money for a retro console that is promised to be in immaculate condition to arrive broken or faulty . Keep on Gaming ! Review: So much better than previous models - I had the original 3ds and couldn't use the 3d function because it gave me a headache after 5 minutes. This model tracks your eyes and the 3d follows you. It is so much better. I can play for hours and it doesn't give me a headache. I was also sceptical before playing this model that 3d was a gimmick and wouldn't add anything to my gaming experience. Having played a few Zelda games I am totally convinced 3d is the way forward. The resolution by today's standards is very low on the 3ds but with the 3d you feel that you are immersed in the game and there is so much more detail to be seen. As other people have said this should have been the original 3ds. As for build quality, batter life etc..... It looks nice and feels nice. It's not iPhone quality its plastic but its still good. Doesn't come with a charger. ### ⭐⭐ I AM OUTRAGED and I took nearly a year to review AND AM STILL OUTRAGED. *by M***N on 12 January 2017* Forever ago (MARCH 2016) I purchased a ‘New’ Nintendo 3DS, and I'm only reviewing now because I tried transferring my data the '3DS transfer' way - since for some stupid reason they thought putting the Micro SD slot on a virtually unreachable part of the handheld was a good idea - then it told me I could only transfer so much from my old 3DS’ 32GB because Nintendo again made a poor decision for users of previous models in the franchise, in that the device came with the worst-sized 4GB Micro SD card. I think the world and previous consumers deserve 8GB, Nintendo. Anyway, in the end I was willing to let that slide in favour of actually getting any of my stuff onto the new, hard to use device, so I ended up trying to use 3DS transfer overnight because I had college at the time and there’d have been no time during the day that I could reasonably transfer my data. Long story short on that method, thought it would do it quick enough that it wouldn’t run out of charge, couldn’t find my second 3DS charger at the time so I thought ‘okay then whatever’ and the next morning I find the one not plugged in (probably the new one) had conked out long before being able to finish. A little later I had to get one of my oldest brothers to undo the two IMPOSSIBLE screws of the back panel that were keeping me from the Micro SD, but since I had no means to read Micro SD cards and transfer the data from both devices onto one collective smol card, I left it sitting open forEVER. It was purchased in late March of 2016, that’s how long I’ve had this completely unusable expensive crud and how long I’ve been holding off on receiving updates on my old 3DS for the sake of the data not conflicting later on. Today I have a multi-reader and a 64GB Micro SD card, so tonight was the night. Unlike the 3DS transfer method, this only took half an hour, an hour tops (PRAISE THE 3.O PORT GODS), and then willfully in the knowledge that I could have made a mistake, I re-screwed the screws to the best of my ability when I put the card in and the base panel back on. I think because there was technically TWO copies of certain bits of weirdly named data on the collective card, the new 3DS now refuses to read the card. And I can’t get the base panel undone again because Nintendo has fun making screws so tiny THEY DON’T TURN. EVER. AND I HAVE NO END TO THE TINY SCREWDRIVERS I OWN. All in all, it’s a terrible thing that I can't ever seem it use the New Nintendo 3DS. And it doesn’t help that while I was fitting and unfitting cards, the new 3DS turned on without my knowledge, Real great face-slapping design there, Nintendo, putting the card slot in an unreachable position and putting the power button on the very hit-able front side, I’d happily burn you all down. The Nintendo Switch better be better than this tom-flippery.
