Only reason for giving it 4 stars is that there was no instructions and I had to go to the Feintech.eu website where I eventually found this product - search is in German and download the driver (marked as for Windows 7/8 although this is for Windows 10 laptop). Then had to run the autosetup.exe in the download folder. (The online download pdf instructions were incorrect about going through device manager to update driver!). The two other fingerprint usb that I've had worked automatically.
