## Description

From the manufacturer DrayTek Vigor 130 About DrayTek DrayTek's product lines range from enterprise-level Firewall Security, VPN facilities for Teleworking and branch-linking, versatile xDSL CPE, DSL routers, VoIP and IP PBX products and Wireless LAN. DrayTek also have a range of LAN switching products in their VigorSwitch series. DrayTek's innovative VPN solutions have enabled teleworkers and branch offices to create virtual links, providing cost savings, flexibility and great effectiveness. VDSL2/ADSL Modem The DrayTek Vigor 130 is a VDSL2 and ADSL modem with an Ethernet connection; it is not a router but a true ADSL/VDSL Ethernet Modem (bridge). It provides proven compatibility with UK VDSL2 and ADSL technologies; extensively tested and tuned to provide a robust and reliable DSL connection. Ideal Partner device for DrayTek dual-WAN products or any other Ethernet WAN firewall. Ethernet Connection for client device (router, PC etc.). Normally no setup/configuration of the Vigor 130 required. ADSL & VDSL Parameters pre-set for UK ISPs (adjustable) and includes VDSL Vectoring ability. Bridge (pass) a single IP address or a whole public subnet. By providing a direct bridge between the DSL connection and Ethernet, the connected device (firewall, router or PC) can log into the Internet (your ISP) directly and have full control over the Internet connection - that makes the Vigor 130 a unique product. You can add VDSL2 and ADSL connectivity to any Ethernet-WAN router simply by connecting up the DrayTek Vigor 130 modem. Other Ethernet 'modems' may use workarounds to get a public IP address 'through' to your secondary device/client, requiring non-standard operation and complicated dual-stage setup (modem logs in, router routes) but the Vigor 130 provides the secondary device with a real routed IP connection and the ability to fully manage the connection, making setup easy. In most cases, the Vigor 130 needs no setup or configuration - just plug it in and set up your PC or router. Line Info in Vigor Router Interface When connected to a DrayTek Vigor router, DSL line information is displayed in the router's own web interface, alongside any built-in DSL interface stats.

Review: Wow, wow, wow. THE simple solution to all those WiFi 6 Routers with no integrated modem - This is a brilliant piece of kit. Simple instructions and dead easy to set up. If you are with a mainstream ISP in the UK, it is plug and play, no configuration to use this as a simple modem. Connect and power it up first, then connect to your router, it passes the internet signal via an Ethernet cable straight into your router WAN port for the router to use and distribute with no messing about required. An absolute breeze and does what it says on the tin. I haven’t explored it, but it also has a more advanced configuration user interface if you wish to access it via your PC, that’s one for the real techies. For me, I just wanted a solid reliable and separate modem to work with my new WiFi 6 router. This is THE solid simple solution to all those WiFi 6 Routers with no integrated DSL modem - all the new WiFi 6 routers I’ve seen are routers only, with no integrated modem. Been up and running now 24 hours, no drop outs just a great internet connection. UPDATE: July 2020: been running flawlessly now for nearly 2 months. Great plug and play modem if you are with a mainstream UK ISP.
Review: Great modem for DSL - Firstly, this is a modem only and not a router. If you buy this on its own, you can only connect one computer to it. There is no router, no wifi and no access controls. Until recently I was forced to use the ISP supplied modem/router what was built to a low price and it showed. Drops, lockups and poor range. I'd been using a decent router in AP-only mode for ages but wasn't allowed to get the PPPoE settings. This suddenly changed and when it did, I ordered this. From a user perspective, it is fast, stable and has some useful options. Since moving over, I've seen a 50% reduction in ping returns, a 5% increase of download speed but no increase in upload. So far no lockups, Draytek supply firmware updates to keep the bugs in check. Well worth the money

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Watch out if using with TalkTalk fibre and Apple Airport Extreme
*by M***E on 3 December 2018*

This is a great modem and if you use anyone but TalkTalk as your provider then is simple to set up. If like me you use TalkTalk with fibre and an Apple AirPort Extreme it is a little more complicated. For ADSL you just plug the unit in and connect up to your router and away you go but for Fibre which uses VDSL then you need to go into the modem settings and alter a few things. This took me a while as Drayteck have not updated their site to include the latest software issue for the Vigorous 130 so the images shown are not what you get on the screen but having said that it does after a little thought make sense and once the Apple Airport is configured all bursts into life and works very well giving excellent download speeds as one would expect with a modem of this cost.
