It gets quite hot and has a very robust steam feature. I had no trouble steaming wrinkles out of denim but it also worked well ironing delicate satin on a bridesmaid gown. The storage case is sturdy and has a heavy duty zipper - it can handle being knocked around in a suitcase and it takes up very little room. I have actually started using this in lieu of my full-size iron at home because it is just to easy to use.
