This book is good to read at the end of a stressful day just to unwind. Reading a poem from this book is like taking a deep breath and relaxing. This is an excerpt from the first poem, with my rough translation. (It sounds prettier in the original Korean): “널 사랑해서 나의 눈에 특별해 보이는 걸까” Are you special in my eyes because I love you? “넌 모두에게 특별해서 내가 사랑에 빠진 걸까” Am I falling in love with you because you’re special to everyone? “옆의 남자들의 눈에도 넌 특별한 걸까” I wonder if you’re special in the eyes of the men next to you, too. I think most of us can relate to these words. Oh Hoon puts poetic style to everyday experiences and makes them seem more beautiful. He also infuses melancholy, hope, and nostalgia into each page.
