Review: Makes very nice clear cubes - I've had this ice maker in use for several days now, and I'm very happy with how it performs. I use distilled water to get the best ice, but tap water works nearly as well. The cubes come out nice and clear due to the flowing water as they freeze. The machine regulates itself, so just leave it on, and it will cycle as needed to keep the bin full. Some ice will melt over time, but the water will be recycled into new cubes. The cubes fall out as an array, but poke at them with the scoop and they will easily break apart. The machine does make some noise when running, but it's not very loud and since it's in the kitchen, it's not a problem if it runs in the middle of the night. The unit seems to be well made, and it has stainless steel molds which won't have plating detachment issues as I've read about on other unit's reviews. Other ice makers that produce cloudy ice or mush ice trap the minerals, and will taint the taste of your beverage. Clear ice is the purest and best! Pay attention to the instruction to let it sit 24 hours after setting it up, before you plug it in and turn it on. During shipment and unpacking, the unit may be tilted enough to allow the compressor oil to end up in places other than the crankcase. Letting it sit allows the oil to return to the crankcase. If you plug it in too soon, it could damage the compressor.
Review: Reliable and still going strong 16+ months later! - UPDATE: We have officially had this for 2.5+ years, and it's STILL working perfectly! Love this ice machine. I rarely write reviews but was just talking about these with a family member and figured I'd give a little review. We bought this in March 2023 for $79 and have definitely gotten our money's worth. It is still going strong and makes consistent ice after the first couple rounds. I find it takes about 2-3 hours to make two full containers that we keep in our freezer. I'd imagine maybe double this if you are looking to fill a small/medium cooler. As many have pointed out (which I had read and understood prior to purchasing), this is NOT a freezer. The ice just sits in a tray. You can say the internal temperature stays "cool" from the ice, so it's not rapidly melting as if you're leaving it on the sidewalk.. but it is WET ice. What we typically do is dump the ice in the freezer.. and after a few minutes of flash freezing OR before dumping the next load, we use an ice pick to break it up so it's not just a giant block. We use this at least once a week but sometimes multiple days during the week and always have ice on hand. It is not completely silent, but the noise is not terribly intrusive to us. It does put off some slight heat from the exhaust fan, but again - nothing intrusive. All in all, we are very happy - and would definitely buy again if this ever stops working. Hope this helps!

**Q: Can you leave the ice in the machine? will the machine keep it cold? will it hurt the machine to not use the ice asap?**
A: This machine has an auto shutoff after basket fills. When it melts down past shutoff point, the Ice Maker cycles and make more ice. I turn on in the morning and have ice all day long. I don't use a separate freezer. Whatever melting does occur, more is made. Although not refrigerated inside, the ice does seem to last at least a couple of hours.

**Q: Does this model come in stainless steal color**
A: Yes. Stainless color.

**Q: Does it make a lot of Noise?**
A: I don’t think it’s very loud. There’s some whirring and slight noise from the fan while it’s working, but while it’s freezing the ice it’s quiet. I have mine running quite a lot and honestly the thing that I notice the sound of most often is just the completed ice falling into the basket.

**Q: I am concerned about it only makes soft ice, because the ice will melt quickly. Is it refrigerated?**
A: We dump the ice back in the reservoir for the first 4 cycles after turning it on to make the ice uniformed and thicker since it initially comes out thin. After that it works, looks and taste great!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A real workhorse for a great price

We are renovating our kitchen and we had to move our fridge. As a result we have no ice making capacity. I bought this hoping it would help for moments in a pinch, but boy was I pleasantly surprised. This thing starts making ice right away! Within 20 mins we had our first cubes, within 2 hours we had a full basket. I started filling zip loc bags to store in the freezer. We have now been living in a makeshift kitchen for 2 months and this thing has never faltered. My only wish is that it had a larger water reservoir, so I could go longer without having to dump water in. There is an option to attach a water line, but I don't have a water line in my living room, so manual it is. Pros: Lots of ice, compact, fast, relatively inexpensive Cons: It can be a little loud at the beginning of the ice making process. Also, because the top is light weight plastic, it does not stay ice cold and the ice can start to melt a bit and then stick together if you don't pull it out soon after it is done.
