Each page has a beautiful, artistic illustration on it with a single word description. The nostalgic style of the illustrations is a refreshing change from most contemporary children's books.When read through the book, you'll notice an association between the figures on the pages. For example, on the left page will be an illustration of a man looking through a microscope with the word BIOLOGIST, while on the right page there will be an illustration of a man looking though a giant telescope with the word ASTRONOMER. Initially the associations are easy and obvious, but as you progress they begin to become more complex.As a parent, I still love the book, but I can see how others might be hesitant. There are illustrations that other parents might be uncomfortable explaining to their young children. For example: CORPSE, AMPUTEE, EXECUTIONER.Every parenting style is different, but I will have no problem trying my best to explain these figures to my daughter when the time comes. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Awesome! *by A***E on Reviewed in the United States on March 31, 2014* I love BlexBolex! I have many of his other zines and books. He has such a distinct style and yet he can design people in so many different ways. I love referencing him for color and seeing how he overlapped shapes to create a second or third color as well as seeing how he used negatives as a shape too. It's great for people interested in making illustrative prints for silkscreen. I bet it would look even nicer if it was screenprinted, but this laser printed copy is still awesome. I love how the illustrated relationships between people aren't always so obvious and that it requires some measure of critical thinking. This book really allows you to see the world and the people in it through the artist's eyes in a very endearing and charming way. I highly recommend this book.
