Do you replace them ?** A: Wow that’s crazy mine are still on I’m sorry to here hear that to on to answer your question if I where able to recover it and the mirror is still good I would just put it back on paint it back to black but that’s just me lol I’m to cheap to spend money like that hope this helps have a great day **Q: What size is the thread that the mirror shaft screws into?** A: The mirror shaft isn't threaded, it has a detent toward the end that the 6mm hex set screw in the bar end clinches into place. Loosen the 6mm set screw, and the mirror shaft will slide right out. Sliding out the mirror shaft exposes the 5mm tightening screw for mounting into the handlebar. (of course, we can't have two of the same-size screws, now, can we?) They fit my 08 SV650 with no issues and I can see behind me now. They are more like those parabolic bling spot mirrors that people put in the bottom corner of their car mirrors making cars look smaller and further away then they appear. The positive of that is you get a wider field of view and can see your blind spots.
