Before I had it hanging my LCD monitors was a travesty - I had 75mm brackets and when I put a 100mm monitor up they'd just fall to the floor and break, At first I tried aluminum brackets but with no screws the monitor fell immediately (hint: even though it's broken, a monitor is still good for practice and testing of hanging!). I tried scotch tape, which held for a few minutes, but eventually the tape across the display surface (even the clear shiny tape) gets annoying. Unfortunately, I had no clear duct tape. I knew there had to be a better way, so off to desertcart! Amazingly they had a product in this bracket that allowed me to adapt the 75mm to 100mm spacing! (it is no coincidence that desertcart and amazing share their first 4 letters!). Frankly, I was skeptical to start, how could a simple piece of metal solve all my problems? A couple of days later I had my answer! When it arrived I was concerned that there was no instruction manual. But a quick search of the Internet showed that the holes probably needed screws in them. They included a bag of 4 screws and after a few hours of puzzling I discovered that they fit right into the threaded holes on the plate! I consulted my daughter next who explained that I should take the existing screws on the LCD remove them and then use them to attach the adapter. Then use the supplied screws to attach the plate to the bracket. Again I was skeptical that such a hare-brained thing would work, but darned if it didn't. My daughter is very smart. Overall, the adapter is very plain looking, and apparently you can only get it in one color (black) and one flavor (yuck). The shiny surface picked up fingerprints easily, but a quick pass with window cleaner fixed that. It's hard to keep from getting fingerprints, but once it's installed you won't see the ones hidden on the back side, thought that still bugs me. Do not put this in your mouth! It tastes awful. If they had any instructions with it, I would strongly recommend that they say this. Also do not throw this for your dog to catch (mine spent a week in the veterinary clinic, but some very nice people from the ASPCA talked to me and she's home now). Again it would be nice if you they told you this up front. Review: Solves an obscure problem for a very reasonable price - My favorite old Dell monitor from 2001 (not a typo) finally burned out. I really like the screen on the new narrow-format Dell monitor which I purchased, but as is the way now, it came with a base far flimsier than the one on the more solid old Dell. This adapter plate allowed me to mount the new screen on the old base as seen in the attached picture - the best of both worlds.
